After 1,000 years Broken fragments of Somnath Shivling resurface, told Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Lost shivalinga are way out after serval years hidden under the earth or unknown place of worship .

Whereas Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has said that some priests took away the fragments of a Shiva Linga from the famous Somnath temple in Gujarat after Mahmud of Ghazni invaded India in the 11th century and kept the pieces hidden for generations

In a clip shared on social media by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's official handle, the spiritual leader said that when Mahmud of Ghazni invaded India, he destroyed the Somnath temple on his 18th attack.

"Some priests then took the broken stone pieces of the Shiva Linga with them," he said, adding that the Shiv Linga there used to "hover in the air".

He added the family has now brought the pieces to his ashram in Bengaluru.

According to historical records, Mahmud of Ghazni came to Gujarat in 1025 AD plundered the Somnath temple, and took all the precious items with him.

The Somnath temple, located at Prabhas Patan in Gir Somnath district, was repeatedly destroyed by Muslim invaders from the 11th century onwards. It was reconstructed after independence. May be in many cases idol of the temple are hidden in old temple premises ,like wise one temple in Madurai Tamilnadu 6 feet Lakshmi idol was found few years ago ,after bringing out the deity was reinstalled now the devotees have become larger.
